Best Backpack Coolers With Storage Compartments

Updated on April 4, 2013

Take Lunch Anywhere You Go

My first experience with a cooler backpack was on a canoe trip, it was loaned to me by a friend. She handed me this backpack when I asked to borrow a cooler, kinda thought she was crazy. I looked at it and was sure there was no way I could get everything in there needed for two people for a eight mile lazy canoe trip.

After I laid everything out it was very easy to pack everything plus have a little extra room. The only real difference was that is was not packed in a lot of ice and I could not just throw things in like I might a regular boxed cooler.

I still have not got my own (although I have borrowed it more then once) but I was defiantly impressed by how much it stored and that I did not have to lug a big cooler around like everyone else. On our hike to and from the canoe site we was able to enjoy the walk there and too while others where having a hard time.

A backpack style cooler is the way to go when you do not want to spend your day lugging around an awkward thing with lots of ice in it. No need to carry a lot of different bags, other non-perishable items can be carried in non-cooler departments.
